Therapeutic Massage
What is therapeutic massage?
Therapeutic Massage sessions are individually crafted for you to meet your specific health needs and goals. Massage is known to be effective for the purposes of deep relaxation, stress relief, improved immune function, and pain relief.
Any of the following modalities may be used, individually or in combination, according to your specific needs: Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and Reiki. The amount of pressure can range from very light to very firm, according to each client’s unique needs and preferences.
is this the right fit for me?
As an experienced practitioner, I have worked with a wide variety of body types and issues, from professional athletes to chronic pain and illness. While I consider myself a general practitioner capable of giving a competent and beneficial massage at any lifestage, my professional focus areas include headaches and migraines, repetitive use injuries, chronic pain and chronic illness, stress relief, and pregnancy massage.
If you are scheduling for a specific acute or chronic issue, please indicate this with your appointment request. An initial phone call consultation may be appropriate to determine if I am the right practitioner for you.
Massage Therapy FAQ

The answer to this depends on your goals. If you are receiving massage for general maintenance, I generally recommend getting a massage every 4-8 weeks. If you are trying to make progress on a particular issue, a massage every 1-3 weeks for about 3-5 sessions is more appropriate. For a more in depth answer, read more about this topic on the blog.

Each session we will decide together on a plan to use modalities that best suit your current health goals and circumstances.
You’ll notice I don’t have a menu of services. That is because I don’t upsell certain modalities or devalue others. Each session draws on my full toolkit of knowledge and experiences, choosing what is best for each client in the moment.

Deep Tissue is a marketing term that does not describe a specific massage modality. While I do use techniques that require firm pressure, I do not give a massage that hurts the entire time. In fact, I’m a firm (ha) believer that massage does not have to hurt to work!
You’ll notice I also do not have a menu of services, and all services are the same price. I want to avoid upselling certain techniques or devaluing others. I want to give everyone the best massage I can using all the tools in the toolkit.
